What Makes Server Troubleshooting Difficult During CompTIA Server+ Preparation?

Ideas

Hello everyone,

I am doing preparations for the CompTIA Server+ exam, and one aspect which is difficult for me now is troubleshooting the problems related to server in case several reasons are possible. Sometimes, I know what a certain component does, but when the problem involves the issues with hardware, storage, network connectivity and services, I find it hard to define where to start from. I tried to improve my technique and pay attention to the symptoms at first and the following checks that would help me to define the root of the problem. For instance, if the server became unresponsive, I have to look not only into the problem with hardware, but to examine the resource usage, the network connectivity, the list of services and the logs of the system. The main difficulty for me consists in the right choice of the next step without any assumptions. I use also the CompTIA practice questions, but I realize that it is not enough just to choose the right answer, but I need also to know why this step should be made before others. While reviewing different preparation materials, I also came across this page related to the SC-401 exam
